I Caught My Kids’ Babysitter Coming Out of the Shower While My Husband Was Home, So I Turned On the Nanny Cam the Next Day
I never considered myself the jealous type, but something about what I saw that day didn’t sit right with me.
It was a Tuesday evening when I came home earlier than expected. I had forgotten my phone at home, and after running back to grab it, I walked in to find our babysitter, Jenna, stepping out of the guest bathroom—her hair wet, a towel wrapped around her body.
My husband, Mark, was sitting on the couch, acting completely normal.
“Jenna?” I asked, my voice sharper than intended. “Why are you showering in our house?”
Jenna’s eyes widened. “Oh! I—uh—spilled juice all over myself while giving the kids dinner. I didn’t want to sit around sticky, so I just took a quick rinse.” She forced a nervous laugh. “I hope that’s okay.”
Mark nodded, unfazed. “Yeah, she asked me, and I said it was fine.”
Something about the situation felt… off. Maybe it was the way Mark didn’t even look at me. Or the way Jenna’s cheeks flushed a deep red.
I decided to brush it off—for the moment.
But that night, as I lay in bed next to Mark, my mind wouldn’t stop racing. If it was just an innocent shower, why did Jenna look so nervous? Why did Mark avoid my gaze when I walked in?
That’s when I remembered the nanny cam we had installed months ago in the living room. We barely ever used it, but I suddenly felt the urge to turn it on the next day.
So I did.
The next evening, after Jenna left and the kids were asleep, I pulled up the footage on my laptop. My hands trembled as I fast-forwarded through the day. For a while, everything seemed normal—Jenna playing with the kids, making lunch, tidying up.
Then, around 2:30 PM, my stomach dropped.
Mark walked into the living room while the kids napped. He leaned against the kitchen counter, watching Jenna as she cleaned up the dishes. She laughed at something he said. Then he stepped closer. Too close.
Jenna glanced toward the hallway—toward the kids’ rooms—before placing her hand on his arm.
I felt my breath hitch.
Mark said something, and Jenna hesitated. Then, to my horror, she reached for the hem of her shirt and lifted it slightly, teasingly, before laughing and shaking her head.
Mark didn’t pull away.
I slammed the laptop shut, my heart pounding.
I had my answer. Maybe nothing had happened—yet. But the way they acted when they thought I wasn’t watching told me everything I needed to know.
That night, I confronted Mark. He stammered, insisted it was nothing, that I was overreacting. But I knew better.
Jenna never babysat for us again. And as for my marriage? Well, let’s just say that was the beginning of the end.
