My Ex Ruined My Day at Work, I Brilliantly Took Revenge on Him the Same Day — Story of the Day

It started as just another Monday—until my ex decided to make it a nightmare. I was sipping my coffee, preparing for a crucial presentation at work, when I heard an all-too-familiar voice behind me.

“Hey, Emily. Fancy seeing you here,” Jason said, his smirk sending a chill down my spine.

I turned around slowly, gripping my coffee cup like a lifeline. “Jason,” I said flatly.

We hadn’t spoken since our messy breakup six months ago, and I had no desire to start now. Unfortunately, Jason had other plans.

“I just got hired in marketing,” he announced. “Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot of each other.”

I nearly choked. Jason? Here? At my company? This had to be a joke.

Before I could respond, my boss called me into the conference room. It was time for my presentation—a project I had spent weeks perfecting. But just as I was about to begin, Jason, the newest employee, walked in and took a seat directly across from me. He shot me a cocky grin, as if daring me to lose focus.

And then it happened.

As I started my PowerPoint, the screen suddenly went black. I clicked frantically, but nothing worked. Confused, I glanced at the laptop and noticed something horrifying—my slides had been replaced with an embarrassing old video of me singing karaoke. Jason had recorded it years ago, and somehow, it was now playing in front of my entire department.

Laughter erupted in the room. My boss raised an eyebrow. My cheeks burned as I locked eyes with Jason, who shrugged innocently.

Oh, he was so going to regret this.

I took a deep breath, forced a smile, and calmly closed the laptop. “Well, that was unexpected,” I said. “But it proves a point—technology is unpredictable, which is why our new software must be foolproof.”

I turned to my team. “Let me walk you through it manually.”

I finished the presentation without a single stumble. By the end, my boss was nodding in approval. Jason, meanwhile, looked like he’d swallowed a lemon. But I wasn’t done with him yet.

During lunch, I overheard Jason bragging about a big pitch he had that afternoon. An idea formed in my mind.

I casually walked past his desk and “accidentally” bumped into him, sending his coffee flying—right onto his freshly printed presentation notes.

“Oh no!” I gasped, feigning concern. “I hope you have a backup!”

He scrambled to dry his papers, shooting me a furious look. But I just smiled sweetly. “Good luck on your first day, Jason.”

That afternoon, I got an email from my boss: Great job handling the presentation. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Jason learned the hard way—if you try to ruin my day, I will make sure yours is worse.
