A woman has publicly come out as abrosexual after a long journey of self-discovery that took her over 30 years. Abrosexuality, a lesser-known identity within the LGBTQ+ spectrum, refers to a fluid sexual orientation where a person’s attraction to different genders can shift over time. For this woman, the realization brought a sense of clarity and relief after years of confusion and questioning.
In interviews and personal writings, she shared how growing up, she never quite felt her experiences matched mainstream labels like gay, straight, or bisexual. At times, she felt strong attraction to women; other times, to men, or to people regardless of gender — and sometimes, no attraction at all. The constant shifts left her feeling isolated and misunderstood.
“I thought something was wrong with me,” she said. “Every time I thought I understood who I was, things would change. Now in her 30s, she feels freer and more confident than ever. She hopes her story will encourage others to explore their identity without shame or pressure. “Being abrosexual is just one part of who I am,” she said. “But knowing it has helped me love and accept myself in ways I never thought possible.”
